RECRAFTING

Built to Be Worn, Repaired, and Worn Again

A quality western boot is not meant to be thrown away after normal wear. With proper care and professional repair, many boots can continue to serve for years. Because of the way our boots are built, many styles can be resoled, reheeled, conditioned, and refinished by an experienced cobbler.

When to Recraft Your Boots

Your boots may need repair when the outsole becomes thin or soft, the heel is uneven or worn down, the stitching or welt area shows damage, the leather feels extremely dry, or the boot loses structure or support.

Resoling

Goodyear welt construction allows many boots to be resoled when the leather outsole wears down. This helps extend the life of the boot while keeping the original upper.

Reheeling

The heel can wear down with use, especially if the customer walks unevenly or uses the boots daily. Replacing the heel cap or rebuilding the heel helps restore balance and comfort.

Leather Restoration

Cowhide and exotic leather can often be cleaned, conditioned, polished, or refinished to improve appearance. The level of restoration depends on the leather type and condition.
