THE PROCESS

From Leather Selection to Final Finish

Every boot begins with the selection of leather. We work with cowhide and exotic leathers, choosing materials based on texture, strength, color, grain, and character. Once the leather is selected, each component is cut, prepared, stitched, shaped, and assembled by skilled bootmakers.

Step 1: Leather Selection

The process starts with choosing the right hide. Natural leather has grain, marks, color variations, and texture differences. These details are part of the leather identity and help make every boot unique.

Step 2: Cutting

Each leather panel is carefully cut according to the boot design. The vamp, counter, shaft, pull straps, and decorative pieces must be cut with precision to create the correct shape and appearance.

Step 3: Stitching

The shaft and upper are stitched together using traditional western patterns and reinforced construction methods. Decorative stitching is an important part of western boot identity, adding style while helping define the boot structure.

Step 4: Lasting

The upper is pulled over a boot last, which gives the boot its shape, toe profile, and fit. This step requires skill and experience because it defines the final silhouette of the boot.

Step 5: Welt and Sole Construction

The outsole is attached using durable construction methods such as Goodyear welt on selected styles. This gives the boot strength, stability, and long-term wearability.

Step 6: Heel, Trim, and Finish

The heel is attached, shaped, and finished. The outsole edges are trimmed, stained, and polished. The leather is cleaned and conditioned, and each pair is inspected before being packed.

Step 7: Final Inspection

Before leaving the factory, every pair is reviewed for construction, appearance, fit, and finish. Handmade boots require attention to detail from beginning to end.
